Set in the heart of an historic landscape, Bodiam Castle is the archetypal 14th century moated castle, with spiral staircases, battlements and a portcullis. It’s one of Britain's most picturesque and romantic ancient monuments.
Please note that in the castle there are steps into some rooms and steep spiral staircases up to the towers and ramparts. There are gravel paths throughout the site with some slopes and undulating terrain.
After our morning visit to the castle we head to Bodiam Station to board our steam train for a journey through the countryside, with Ploughman’s lunch served on board.
