Day 1 After our door to door service, we travel across country to Devizes, which featured as Casterbridge in the 1967 Julie Christie version of ‘Far From The Madding Crowd’. The historic centre has numerous listed 18th Century and Medieval buildings, and the museum houses 500,000 years of Wiltshire history! We continue to our hotel in Chippenham.

Day 2 A morning visit to Great Chalfield Manor, built in 1465 and filled with history, beautiful furniture and unusual architecture, a unique Arts and Craft garden and an adjoining parish church. We have a guided tour discovering its secrets and the locations used for Wolf Hall and as Killewarren in Poldark. In the afternoon we visit Bradford-on-Avon, a delightful village used in the filming of Wolf Hall and Robin of Sherwood.

Day 3 This morning we visit Lacock, a delightful village almost entirely owned by the National Trust. Lacock is much admired by filmmakers and has featured in the BBC’s Cranford and Wolf Hall, Harry Potter, The Other Boleyn Girl and Downton Abbey. Visit the village, the Abbey, the gardens and the Fox Talbot Museum, to discover the history of photography. Spend all day here, or return to Chippenham for free time in the town.

Day 4 After a leisurely breakfast, we visit the historic market town of Corsham, a hidden gem on the fringe of the Cotswolds, which doubled as 18th Century Truro in Poldark. In the afternoon we visit Chavenage, for a tour of this wonderful Elizabethan house, which featured as Trenwith in Poldark.

Day 5 We depart after breakfast and travel to Winchester for free time to sightsee and have some lunch. We return to the local area early evening where your taxi will be waiting to take you home.
